Vauxhall Won't Admit To An Obvious Design Fault

Don't know when my spare was stolen. Some time between the issue being highlighted on BBC's Watchdog, when I checked my spare was still there, and when I had my car MOT'd at the end of July.
It was really embarrassing. I'd asked the garage to swap one of my wheels, which I knew was low, but still legal, with the spare, if it was better. They came back and said that there was no spare. Like the rest of you, I think it's disgusting that Vauxhall won't admit responsibility for what is clearly an oversight, if I'm feeling generous, or downright negligent if I'm not.

I have a young baby, and am now worried in case I get a flat, as I'd have to call out the breakdown services. I have to say, unless Vauxhall have brought out some form of locking device, I'm reluctant to replace my spare, just to have it nicked again. I think I'll have a look on Ebay. I bet there's a lot of Zafira spare wheels on there?!?!?

Vauxhall Zafira spare wheel theft

The Zafira is a good all round family car

Based on the Vauxhall Astra chassis, there are quite a few similarities between the two cars, such as the general driving ride and the quality of the car as a whole.

There have been a few problems that general users have seen with the cars, such as:

Saying this, however. The car is very practical and does have some very good points. The innovative ?Flex 7? seating system makes it very easy to switch the car from 5 to 7 seats without too much hassle.

Other nice features include easy access to the car thanks to the wide opening doors, ideal for families with small children, and an anti-stall device. Designed to stop the car from stalling a low revs.

The car is generally very good and although a minority of owners have had some problems, it represents extremley good value for money and provides a great means of getting the whole family from one place to another.
